11 days to go…back running…and Vincent’s law of litter

The club run never fails to motivate me to get the running gear on. Thankfully!

I’ve been abysmal of late at getting out there, preferring to give in to aches and pains, which really is not like me. Got to get my ar$e in gear again. Giving up 1095miles was a bad idea, I should have just kept going!

Tonight’s club run was interesting and quite fun actually. The middle group are usually led out by Kev, but he wasn’t about this evening, so they came out with the faster group. There were nearly 30 of us altogether, which can only be described as a liability when crossing a road, but it sure is fun to run in a big group. At 6 miles we split back into two groups again and in the faster group we went off to do a couple of hill climbs before a very fast last mile or so back down to the club.

And finally to a theory, presented to me by its author, upon the littering habits of energy drink users. Specifically those who have wings ;-) My colleague James has a theory which he introduced me to on our recent run in Darlington. He suggests that over 50% of the drinks cans you see when you’re out for a run will ‘have wings’ as it were. From the limited sample on the Darlington run, I can neither confirm nor deny this as a possibility, but you could provide the confirmation! Your task is, on your next run, to tot-up all of the energy drink cans against the non energy drink cans and leave me a note below, such that Vincent’s law can be evidenced to the world. Essentially he’s convinced that the stereotypical energy drink consumer is also highly likely to drop litter! ;-)

We’ll see!

And if you’re in the market for some compression or winter running gear, you could do worse than have a look at skins.net as they have a sale on for a few days. I’ve picked up a couple of items in advance of the terrible weather I’ll no doubt be running through over the next few months!
